While shopping in Sephora the other day I decided to use some of my beauty points to try the fairly new Ole Henriksen ‘Cold Plunge Pore Mask’.

I have to confess that I have not been taking advantage of my beauty samples lately, mainly because I forget I got them in the first place.

The truth is that product samples can be life saviors, you can easily get up to a week’s worth of product to sample at home with the rest of your skincare routine.

Samples also are very handy to take with you when you travel, and for a blogger, it can help you stay in trend with whats new without going broke.

If anything I hope that these new “Sample Reviews” help you see them in a different light and appreciate it for what its worth.

Now let us talk about the Ole Henriksen ‘Cold Plunge Pore Mask’, it is a cooling clay mask that claims to detoxify and instantly reduces the look of pores, smooths skin texture, and control oils all day.

Ole Henriksen

I have been a fan of Ole Henriksen products for years, he consistently has put out great products that deliver results so I was excited to try this mask.

Inspired by Scandinavian last sauna cycle, the first cycle is a hot sauna followed by a plunge in nearby lakes to cool off. This “cold plunge” is believed to improve circulation and detoxify.

I cleaned and applied it to dry skin. The bright turquoise blue color is an instant mood lifter I couldn’t help but smile.

The mask spreads smoothly and evenly leaving behind a cooling effect on the skin, a great feeling after a 90-degree day which we have been having plenty of lately.

The mask sat on my skin a little longer than 15 minutes but it remained soft and did not dry up like a clay mask is expected to.

I used a wet washcloth to remove the mask, which I find to be so helpful and less time consuming than using just water.

My skin looked matte, my pores looked cleaner and less noticeable. The overall texture of my face looked better and my skin felt refreshed.

I continued with my night-time routine and the next day my skin still looked brighter and more matte than usual. I wore makeup and noticed a big difference in my oilier areas.

After wearing my makeup for 6 hours that day I had minimal breakdown around my T-zone and even my husband commented on how great my makeup looked.

In conclusion, Ole Henriksen ‘Cold Plunge Pore Mask’ is a sample worth splurging on especially great for oilier skins, I found it delivers its claims to controls oils and helps the skin look smoother.
