Benefits of Glycolic Acid On The Skin

First, I want to share a little more on the key turnover ingredient in this exfoliating Pixi Bodytreats; glycolic acid, one of the strongest AHA and revered as an all-in-one solution for most skincare concerns.

Glycolic acid is considered the golden standard of alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA), widely used for anti-aging, hyperpigmentation, dryness, and acne. Firstly, the keratolytic properties of glycolic acid exfoliate dead skin cells from the skin’s surface, and this exfoliation reduces existing fine lines and wrinkles, fades hyperpigmentation, and clears acne. Furthermore, because glycolic acid is derived from sugar cane, it’s also a humectant, meaning it has the chemical ability to draw moisture to itself. This means glycolic acid draws moisture to your newly exfoliated skin which, when used correctly, hydrates not only dry skin but also prevents new fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally, glycolic acid increases the penetration of other skincare ingredients making your other products stronger.

My Empties Review Of Pixi’s Glycolic Body Peel Products

I was so excited to use these products, that I showered shortly after unboxing them on my Instagram stories and daily after that. My goal was to help avoid ingrown hairs, acne, and rough patches. The products have a soft and pleasant scent, nothing too overpowering. My favorite to use was the body wash as it foamed up nicely and left my skin feeling clean but not stripped. Also, I love that the products all felt gentle enough to use daily.

Initially, the only improvement I could tell was how soft and hydrated my skin felt. This was enough for me to continue using. After two weeks, I noticed that my skin looked brighter, and my rough patches, AKA keratosis pilaris was a little smoother.

I finished all three products, and I’m happy with the results. The Pixi Bodytreats Glycolic is a definite must-try if you want to pump up your body care routine. However, if you suffer from keratosis pilaris, the minimal improvements might not justify the price tag. Because, although I only have bumps on a small area of my legs, I didn’t see better results than with other products, i.e., Scrubs.

In conclusion, these products would be my choice to help combat signs of aging, dull and dry skin.
