In this post, I will be sharing a two-ingredient deep moisturizing hair mask that restores dry, brittle hair and promotes growth.

Hi Guys, remember that post in which I said I would be taking a break from bleaching my hair? Ooops, well, you see the salons were closed then, so it was a straightforward statement to make. However, as soon as my hair guru of 13 years opened back up, I was in the salon chair, hair wrapped in tin foil, bleaching my hair away.

But really, who was I kidding? The truth is that I get so bored if my hair color and length stay the same for too long, in specific whenever I’m rocking dark tones. Because, even though, I was born with dark brown hair, I believe lighter hair flatters me best, especially during the summer months.

Consequently, apart from lighter locks, bleach also strips hair of moisture, which leaves it fragile and frizzy. But, with the power of my weekly DIY recipes, I’ve learned how to keep my hair healthy and strong. Check out the DIY of The Week: A Two-Ingredients Deep Moisturizing Hair Mask.

A Two-Ingredients Deep Moisturizing Hair Mask

This week’s DIY hair mask was all about restoring dry, brittle hair and promoting growth.

The ingredients and their benefits for hair:

  1. Two tablespoons plain yogurt  (regular or Greek)
    2. One teaspoon of Maju’s Black Seed Oil

Full Fat Greek Yogurt: It offers all the nourishment that our hair needs to grow strong and healthy. First, there’s protein, the building block of our locks. Greek yogurt is rich in vitamin B5, which helps with blood flow to your scalp and hair growth. Apart from those benefits, pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) helps prevent hair thinning and loss. Also rich in fats that moisturizes your hair and makes for a great natural conditioner.

What’s more, Greek yogurt has lactic acids, which is excellent for cleansing the scalp and clearing away dead skin cells resulting in hair follicles growth.

Black Seed Oil: The antioxidant properties of black seed oil helps promote hair growth by maintaining the collagen in the hair follicles. Furthermore, it also softens, seals split ends and leaves hair shiny.

How To Instructions:

  • First, brush hair and divide it into four sections.
  • Mix the ingredients in a bowl.
  • Use your hands to massage mask into scalp and work it from roots to tips, spreading evenly among strands.
  • Cover with a shower cap.
  • Leave in for 15 minutes to as long as you can, typically, I do it before I start to clean the house.
  • Then, rinse thoroughly and wash with shampoo and conditioner.
  • Style as usual.
  • Show off those shiny locks!
