In this post, I’m sharing the DIY of The Week: A Deep Conditioning Hair Mask. This mask is an excellent choice for dry, frizzy, damaged hairs, and to promote hair growth.
Why DIY Hair Masks?
If there is one DIY I hope my blog motivates you to try, it is hair masks. Most importantly, because DIY hair masks are a highly potent, effective way to provide your hair with tons of benefits.
Whether your hair is damaged, dry, frizzy, flakes, dull, or falling. All you need are a few everyday ingredients that you can whip into a DIY mask. Moreover, you don’t have to hit the store and buy another overpriced mask, unless you want to, which means more money in your wallet!
My goal this summer is to grow healthier, longer hair so I will be adding a ton of recipes here.
Check out this weeks recipe, and let me know what you think.
DIY Deep Conditioning Hair Mask
This week I treated my hair to this Deep Conditioning Hair Mask. After that, my hair instantly looked shinier, felt softer, less frizzy, and because I let my hair air-dry I’m also reducing hair breakage and damage.
Ingredients and their benefits:
Eggs: The high amount of protein in egg whites helps strenghten hair follicles while also healing spit ends. While the nutrients in the yolk, including vitamins A and E, folate and biotin promote hair growth.
Honey: Honey is considered a humectant, which means it can help your hair pull in and retain moisture. In other words, less frizzy hair. Honey also stimulates the growth of skin cells, which promotes more vigorous hair.
Coconut Oil: Rich in vitamin K, E, and iron which helps eliminate dandruff as well as promoting hair growth. Moreover, Due to its low molecular weight, coconut oil can penetrate the hair shaft for deep conditioning helping reduce dryness and frizz.
Avocado: The minerals in avocados, such as folic acid, iron and magnesium help seal the hair cuticle. Which makes your hair more resistant to damage and breakage.
How To Recipe:
- 1 TBSP Honey
- 1-2 TBSP Coconut Oil
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 Avocado
In a blender, combine all the ingredients until you are left with a smooth mixture. After that, apply the mask to your hair, taking extra time on the scalp and ends. Finally, cover with a shower cap and leave on for 30 minutes or longer before washing hair.
I hope you decide to try this recipe if you make sure to let me know how you like it.
