Best Makeup Primer

Primers have become an essential part of my makeup routine

I am currently in the market for anything that’s going to help me revive my dull skin, for this reason, Nars Radiance Primer caught my eyes while shopping online. Below are my first impressions and final review but first check out the details.

Best makeup primer

THE CLAIMS:

The Nars Radiance Primer is a radiance boosting primer that is meant to instantly revive dull and fatigued skin. The radiance boosting complex warms and brightens the complexion with a light reflecting pearlescence. Plant extract Evodia Rutecarpa promotes microcirculation for improved skin vitality and a complexion that looks more energized. A cocktail of anti-oxidants helps ward off free radical damage while SPF 35 helps protect against damaging UVA/UVB rays.

The benefit of having a makeup primer and SPF in one is great, but not ideal for people who want to have just one primer for all occasions.

My Review:

The packaging is convenient and stylish, with a squeeze style tube and flip-top cap. A lightweight lotion base with a peachy tone and light reflecting pearlescent that blend evenly and sheers out to show a very subtle but beautiful “glow’.

The first day I used it under It Cosmetics CC Day Cream, the primer lived up to its claim. My face looked radiant, and the makeup stayed put for 15 plus hours. I put it to the test the next day under the Maybelline Super Stay a full-coverage foundation and the primer again lived up to its claims. The primer extended my makeup for two more hours than without any primer which is not mind-blowing.

As a final test, I decided to use Nars Radiance Primer with no face makeup; just a little bit of concealer on the eyes. My skin looked a little brighter but nothing too life-changing.

The benefit of having a primer and SPF is great, but not ideal for people who want to have just one primer for all occasions. I recommend you use a foundation with SPF as well or apply it liberally, which will not be very cost effective.

My Final Review:

Nars Radiance Primer is an excellent choice for people looking for a radiance boosting primer with normal-combination skins, do their makeup on a daily basis and can appreciate the benefit of SPF and primer in one. My liquid foundations and powders applied smoother, and my skin looked more radiant; than when I use no primer.

I would not recommend this primer to people with oily skin that are looking to mattify their skin, that only uses a primer on a special occasion.

Let me know if you will be trying it out for yourself.
