Fabletics

When it comes to Athleisure I will be the first to admit that I’m no pro. While some people might have a long list of must-haves I’m happy as long as the pants aren’t falling off, the top is not suffocating me and the sneakers stay on throughout my workout.

My thought process when I first began working out was to start with the basic and upgrade things as I progress in my fitness level. In fact, even though I work out six times a week, have been for the past two years, I still dont put too much thought on what I’m wearing. Another reason is that I work out from home.

For these reasons, I now have a lot of ill-fitting work out clothes. Therefore, I decided to try some new brands and update my wardrobe.

What I’m In the Hunt For:

I’m looking for good quality activewear, that will last for years. Fashion-wise, I’m pretty open, however, the focus is on the fit and feel. Firstly, I like to have compression in my athleisure. Secondly, It must be high -waisted bottoms or at least a medium-rise fit. Thirdly and most importantly it needs to move with me. As I mention above, I work out six days a week and my exercise routine can be very intense. I do HIIT at least three times a week, and the last thing I want is having to stop to adjust my clothes. Finally, I’m in the hunt for athletic wear that I can be excited to work out in.

The first brand I wanted to try is Fabletics. Continue reading below to find out if it’s worth it or not.

Fabletics

Fabletics

What it is?

Fabletics is a subscription retailer that sells activewear at an accessible price point. The company is known for its online business but it also now has 38 brick and mortar stores throughout the US.

How it works:

  1.  Start by taking a short Lifestyle Quiz to help Fabletics get to know your lifestyle better.
  2. Once you’ve signed up you’ll get the introductory offer which is typically either an entire outfit for $25.00 or two pairs of Fabletics leggings for $24.00. I got the latter.
  3. Each month, new outfits are recommended for you based on style and workout preferences.
  4. On the first day of each month, Fabletics sends options for new handpicked outfits. Log in between the 1st and the 5th of the month to make a selection or “skip this month.”
  5. If you dont skip, your card will be billed $49
  6. All outfits start at $49.95 USD — which is 50% off the listed price — and include free shipping.

What’s great is that you can also choose to use your VIP points and credits at their retail stores. You can try on the clothing and get the exact same price – 50% off – and you don’t have to wait for shipping!

Fabletics Try-On and Subscription Review

After signing up and receiving my limited time introductory offer I began to browse amongst the options of leggings. One thing I do want to note is that there were a lot of styles to choose from. However, my size (small) was sold out on a lot of the ones I would have picked. I made my selections and proceeded to checkout, not before having to x out of two pop-ups, luring me to buy more items. Overall, signing up and making my first purchase was smooth, and I mean, $25 for two pairs of workout pants is a steal!

My Fabletics order arrived fairly quickly via FedEx 3-4 business days after placing the order. I ordered the Trinity High-Waisted Pocket Legging and the High-Waisted PowerHold Legging. My first impressions of both were positive, I was, however, a little worried that the Powerhold leggings would be too heavy based on the feel of the fabric. With my first impressions noted I have been working out on them and here is my review.

First, I would like to point out that both of the leggings I bought feels great on the skin. The fabric is soft not itchy, and, even the PowerHold, feels light and breathable. Secondly, the fit of both is very flattering. As I mentioned above, I love a high waist and compression on my athleisure and they give that. The High-Waisted Powerhold does look like its holding more in place. Thirdly, and most importantly I worked out in them and the experience was great. During my high-intensity routine, the pants stayed in place without sliding down or folding over. Also, there is no skin showing through them (squat-proof) which is very important for those who work out at the gym.

Finally, with all being said is Fabletics worth it?

Yes, but not completely. Ok, let me explain my answer; Two pairs for $25 is a great incentive for signing up. Also, perks like 50% off the listed price make signing up a no brainer. However, in my case, I dont purchase new athleisure every month so I’ll have to make sure to skip before my card gets charged. This may not sound like a big deal, but trust me it can be when you start to forget to skip the month. Above all, and why it’s worth it; the quality is there. Behind are the days when I would walk into a store and mindlessly pick out leggings simply because they are cheap. Fabletics offers both quality at accessible price points.

I’m so glad that I gave Fabletics a try. Now I know what all the hype is about! I will keep my subscription, and hopefully, I can stay on top of it and cancel whenever I’m not buying anything. I do want to try their sports bra next. Have you tried Fabletics?
