Head & Shoulder Pre-wash mask

Overtime, the products we use to style our hair can build up.

Scalp build up usually is caused by overusing styling products. But even shampoos and conditioner can leave residues.

Eventually this residue can result in flaking and itchy dry scalp.

As a result, your hair starts to show signs like; lack of shine, hair feels limp or greasy and fewer curls definition.

While you can use a clarifying shampoo, these contain harsh ingredients that can dry the hair and scalp.

The other solution to remove scalp build up is by using a pre-wash mask or treatment.

I usually do an all natural DIY pre-wash mask like this one HERE or HERE.

This time I decided to give the Head & Shoulder ‘Scalp Pre-Wash Mask” a try.

Head & Shoulder ‘Scalp Detoxifying’ & ‘Root Rejuvenating’ Pre-Wash Mask

Hair care

I came across Head & Shoulder’s new pre-wash masks while shopping for new hair care in Target.

The ‘Scalp Detoxifying Pre-Wash Mask’ with the refreshing scent of eucalyptus and mint gently lifts away impurities to restart and refresh you scalp.

The ‘Root Rejuvenating Pre-Wash-Mask’ with a refreshing blend of tea tree oil and mint invigorates roots and help purify and restore your scalp.

Use the deep cleaning mask twice a week before shampooing as a boost to your daily scalp care routine.

The lightweight, formula helps remove scalp buildup and protect against flakes and itch.

Gentle enough to use on color treated hair.

I purchased both and took it home to test them out for myself.

Head & Shoulders Pre-Wash Mask Review

hair care

First of all the Head & Shoulders Pre-Wash masks are easy to use.

To use, wet hair then massage the rich cream onto scalp, focusing on roots. Rinse entirely and shampoo and condition as usual.

My scalp instantly felt a cooling tingling sensation thanks to the eucalyptus and mint.

I first tried the Head & Shoulders ‘Scalp Rejuvenating’ Pre-Wash Mask.

Typically, I require up to three shampoos to feel my scalp is clean but this time I accomplished it after one.

Furthermore, my hair felt smooth and looked shiny and manageable.

Even more noteworthy I was able to go six days between washes. Usually, my hair looks like straw by the third day.

Excited with my results I used Head & Shoulder’s ‘Root Rejuvenating’ Pre-Wash mask for the second time that week.

Similarly, to my first experience, easy to use, refreshing scalp sensation and smooth, manageable hair.

As a result, Head & Shoulders Pre-wash masks made it to this weeks Drugstore Product of the Week.

While I love my DIY’s, some days I rather go for ready to use products and even more at the price of $1.99.

Certainly, a must try, however I recommend switching every other week to either a DIY or a clarifying shampoo.
