In this Coronaventure post, I will be featuring Menauhant Beach in East Falmouth.
The birthday girl, Valentina, picked this week’s beach location. Her choice was for us to go to her grandparent’s house down the cape, which has a private beach.
She wanted to go to a familiar place, where we could relax and celebrate. And of course, we didn’t think twice; there is no debate that a private beach makes for the perfect destination, especially when the goal is to distance from others physically.
What’s more is that after the beach, we all showered and got dressed before having dinner (Ma’s gravy) and cutting Valentina a cake.
Meanwhile, 0.4 miles away, sharing the same shoreline is Menauhant Beach, a public, family-friendly beach.
Menauhant Beach in East Falmouth
Most recently featured in Boston Magazine’s Best Beaches of Massachusetts, Menauhant Beach is an excellent destination if you are looking to avoid the large crowds of Falmouth’s more popular beaches. The long narrow beach location is in a quiet and secluded neighborhood, with views of Martha’s Vineyard from across the way.
The sand area is wide, with plenty of room to physically distance from others. However, you’ll want to bring water shoes, as you make your way in the water the sand is rather rocky and has more than your average seaweed. That said, the water is beautiful and at a perfect temperature for swimming.
Albeit wavy, they are small enough for young ones to swim and play near the shore. Moreover, the kids will love to collect shells and build sandcastles.
