Today I am reviewing Lancome ‘Effacernes Waterproof Concealer’ after trying it out for a couple of months on and off.
Concealers have become one, if not the essential product for me, I have become very picky and look for certain benefits that very few deliver.
The primary requirement is that it needs to have a ‘natural’ finish. Meaning it needs to blend in with the rest of my face and not scream makeup.
It’s so refreshing to see how my taste in makeup has evolved over the years.
When my skin was flawless and youthful, I would cover it with twenty pounds of makeup, and now I love a minimal look.
I now look for products that have coverage but claim a natural-looking coverage.
Which is why I wanted to give Lancome ‘Effacernes Waterproof Concealer’ a try.

Lancome ‘Effacernes Waterproof Concealer’ Review
My first impression, as always is on the packaging and I have mixed feelings about this one.
Part of me, the makeup artist, loves a squeeze tube since its easier to use on your kit and keep germ free.
However, for personal use, I’m not a fan and rather have an applicator, mainly because I do my makeup in the car and this makes it easier for me.
Another reason an applicator becomes handier than a squeeze tube is to mix the product in the packaging before application.
Even still, the performance of the product is more important than the packaging, but I want to note this point.
I squeezed some product onto my hands and the first thing to come out was oil. The fix is to shake the product first to blend.
A little bit goes a long way, the product is highly pigmented and requires a lot of blending. A tip would be to warm it up on your hands first and then apply.
Once the concealer was blended into my skin it looked flawless, my darkness and dullness were all gone.
It did not settle into my fine lines, and the coverage was even and smooth.
I set it using a setting powder and went about my day checking in the mirror to judge the wearability.
After wearing Lancome ‘Effacernes Waterproof Concealer’ for 9 hours, my makeup still looked great.
There was some creasing around the eyes, but it was minimal and common after 9 hours of wear.
Lancome ‘Effacernes Waterproof Concealer’ delivers its claims but I’m hesitant to rave about it because the color range is very limited and non-inclusive.
My medium to dark skin toned readers have minimal options to choose from which is something I hope the brand can take note of and extend their color range in the future.
With that in mind, the formula is excellent and versatile, long wearing and you get a lot of product for the price since you only require a little bit of product.
With everything mentioned as consideration, I score Lancome ‘Effacernes Waterproof Concealer’ a 7 /10.
